Take out from restaurants: App vs. Direct Delivery

It has come to my attention and many during this time just how easy it is to order food to take out instead of just cooking your own meals. It has also come to my attention how much money food delivery apps such as DoorDash, UberEats, Postmates, etc. are taking from restaurants. It is actually shocking and in result has left people boycotting delivery apps. However for me I am torn on the situation because we really need to think about all players on hand. On one hand, yes, it is wrong to take rightfully earned profits from a small business or company but on the other hand there are people who are signing up to be delivery drivers during this time because they are unable to get the same finances as before this crisis. After doing some digging online I was able to find a complete break down of how much delivery apps are really taking from you favorite restaurants. An itemized invoice was shared from the owner of Chi Pizza Boss from GrubHub showing just how much money they were taking from their restaurant. But there are also articles coming out about how food delivery apps are still struggling despite how much they are apparently taking out. I think the best thing to do is to make your own decision when choosing to order from delivery app or directly from a restaurant. I think the best thing is to do your best to support both.
