Making your own jam

This past weekend my mom and I went to the famers market and picked up some of the most beautiful, juicy strawberries and decided to make our own jam. I am not too sure where she found this recipe but it seemed pretty easy.

All that we did was chopped up a few handfuls of strawberries and started to cook them on the stove with sugar bringing it to a low boil and then adding lemon juice until it becomes nice and thick.

I was actually a little confused while writing this and I wasn’t too sure about the difference between jam and jelly. But with a quick search I learned that jam is made directly from crushed fruit and jelly is made from fruit juice. The more you know I guess. This is so easy to make and so worth it when you can spread some fresh jam on a warm piece of toast!
